I really wonder why this would be needed. the residual moisture, assuming washing it in the AM and using it at bedtime, is negligible. The risk of organisms contaminating it is negligible.
What I do after washing it in warm soapy water is to drain it as much as possible, then spin it it around holding it in the middle. The centrifugal action will spin most out. I usually add a diluted vinegar solution before this. Works for me.
I have thought of adding a small amt of water to the hose opening the hose opening to provide some hydration, but this would be too much trouble and only minimally helpful.
Others suggest simply turning on the machine and letting the air dry it, but the amount remaining after slinging it around is negligible.
