Just as a thought -- I developed GERD as a result of CPAP some ten months after starting to use it (and also after having to raise the pressure a number of times). My sleep doc says that air-swallowing, which I do, is probably what brought it on, and is now prescribing a bi-pap machine. I'll let you know how that works in a few weeks.

Usually CPAP alleviates GERD; in my case, it caused it. FWIW, a Pepcid at bedtime has worked to prevent any symptoms up to now.
