It could be that he had what his body thinks is "enough" sleep. His body may be off because of years of lack of proper sleep. He'll catch on in time. Staying up is not nearly as bad as sleeping without CPAP. Also, the extreme weather may be playing a role (it's the coldest it's been in years everywhere in the U.S.).
