This reminds me of someone who suffers heat stroke. Once injured in this way they are said to be more susceptable to subsequent exposure to heat or sun. I agree with your statement relating to OSA. I'm very early in the treatment phase for OSA, and any one bad night of sleep will drastically impair my cognitive functions the next day.

I wonder if there have been any medical studies about this effect.
