micropore tape

Ok I have been on c-pap for 10 months, I use an ace bandage for a chin strap cause I know I can't keep my mouth closed. I use to sleep with fans on during the night, and didn't realize I was still losing air through my lips. A few night ago I tried the tape. First time was with a plastic micropore tape, Felt like I was ripping my lips off in the morning, not to mention the tape residue left on my lips and skin. I purchased the paper micropore tape today. IS it the same ? will I still have to clean off the adhesive in the morning?
