Posted by stars_bright on February 13, 2003 at 15:24:52:I wsa diagnosed with sleep apnea about 18 months ago and was given a non-auto CPAP. In order to determine the pressure they initially lent me an auto-CPAP and decided I needed a pressuer of 10. I am in the UK and it seems that here it is OK for us to adjust the pressure ourselves - the technician showed me how to do it and also gave me a printed sheet to take home. Over the last 18 months I have put on about 14 lbs and also gradually increased the pressure so it is now 11.5. I have started to have the 'dead' feeling in the mornings again but I am a bit concerned about keep increasing the pressure myself.
Should sleep studies be done at regular intervals or once the pressure has been set is it normally kept at that fore life?
