The feeling that you describe of a burning sensation in your throat sounds like GERD (Acid Reflux) to me. Have you eaten something different, spicy, very late at night on the occasions that you have these sensations? I would be willing to bet that you have GERD and don't realize it. You may want to research it a bit. There are some posts below on the subject.
