Thanks for the postings, but I think I might be overstating the "wired" feeling. It's really that strange feeling you get just before going to sleep. I seem to stay in that state constantly after about 5 hours sleep, and I just kind of jerk myself away from the edge of falling asleep and the cycle repeats for an hour or two until I get frustrated and get up. I usually get about 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep (that I'm aware of) and then this kicks in. This happened again last night. The weird thing is, when my alarm clock goes off, I hit the snooze button and I fall asleep for the 10 minutes that the snooze is timed for, and I dream like crazy! This can happen for 3 or 4 times in a row, until I drag myself out of bed. Man, what I wouldn't give for 8 hours of deep, peaceful refreshing sleep!!! I wake up in the morning (with or without CPAP – so it's not an air blowing thing) with puffy, bloodshot eyes, can barely drag my butt around all day, I yawn constantly and want to nap all day long! I swear to God that the CPAP doesn't help and even makes things worse, if that's possible! I don't ever have any caffeine. I hate coffee and drink very little (decafe) tea, like maybe 3 - 4 glasses a year. The only thing I might have is a bit of chocolate, but I don't have any of that after mid-day, so I don't think its caffeine. I don't think its anxiety, as other than feeling anxious because I feel like crap all of the time, I'm not an anxious person. If anything I've been told I'm pretty laid back. I like my life, happily married, 2 great (older) kids, good job, etc. I just wish I could go to sleep and wake up feeling refreshed and get rid of this "brain fog" that I am living with all day. It's like being hung-over all of the time without any of the fun the night before! Sorry, I know I’ve said some of this before, but I just need a venue for venting, and this seems appropriate.
Thanks again for your help and input!
