Tape v. Chin Straps

Posted by fog on February 12, 2003 at 12:59:44:

I used to be an advocate for the use of micropore tape, even in copious quantities but I did find that the taste of the adhesive is not to my liking. I also found that as might be guessed from the name 'micropore paper tape' it was not sufficiently impermeable for me.

I had previously found chin straps to be largely ineffective but now find that an ultra-tight chin strap, although extremely uncomfortable, is often extremely effective.

Does anyone here have comments or suggestions concerning how they deal with the 'taste of the adhesive' or how they deal with many chin straps being devices that too easily slip and promptly become ineffective?
