Here's the strange thing about it: on fixed 10 cm pressure my entire night of sleep feels like a pretty good thing! :-) I am not really aware of hering-breur symptoms as I sleep. However, when I am awake at 10 cm, my lungs do feel over inflated a bit. I have no problem overlooking this slight over-inflated feeling, however. I don't notice any lung over-inflation feeling at all on auto-Pap. One other interesting observation, SGS. On fixed 10 cm pressure I am much more aware of very prolific dreaming. I used to think this was a good sign, a sign that I was finally getting into REM sleep. However, on auto-Pap, my awareness of the dream process does not seem so frequent or vivid. On auto-Pap my awareness of the dream process seems more in line with what think was normal for me very, VERY many years ago. It could be that for one reason or another I was waking up more frequently on a fixed 10 cm pressure, and hence the dream "over awareness".

I have to spend more time reading and digesting what you said, but I ALWAYS find it a worthwhile intellectual journey. Thanks as always!
