VA and CPAP

Posted by Shalimar on February 13, 2003 at 03:03:48:

Well, finally good news. I went on CPAP 6/2000 and 8 weeks ago Medicare decided I did not sleep 6 hours and "cut me off" My machine was a rental they let me use it till 31 Jan sleep study. Took an ambien, had dreams and apneas....sleep doc said I DID NOT SLEEP!!! Well needless to stay I have been so stressed trying to get this straightened out, another sleep study on 15 March with Klonopin, DME on my butt for their machine back.......on Friday the 7th I approached the VA about a machine and supplies, on Tues the order went to the DME and Wed I got the call and today I get everything new, and better than my Medicare equipment. All I asked was to base this on my old study from 3/200 which did not meet Medicare guidlines..and it was approved. No I am not even service connected. I am so pleased I think I will just stay with the VA...odd fact, they are contracted here in town with my current Medicare DME LOL only in America, and who would have thought........ Sometimes the answer is rght in front of our face. I do have a question. I have tremendouse delayed sleep onset, and sleep maintenance insomnia, and have since my TBI, no stage 4 sleep at all, so I wake up tired and stay tired. I feel like I am going nuts from no sleep. Any ideas, I have researched this, and really don't meet any of the traditional reasons
Tks
