High pressure=High blood pressure??

Posted by kooledd on February 13, 2003 at 09:06:44:

I had normal 120/80 blood pressure while on CPAP for about
10 yrs. In June 2002 I went for titration and was found to
have mixed (central apnea) in addition to OSA. I was put on
a VPAP S/T machine with pressure raised. My old pressure was 8.5c/m, my new pressure was 11c/m input, and 6.0c/m out-
put. About one month later my blood pressure went to 140-150/80. I have been given low ACE inhibitor meds and my
pressure hasn't changed.

I'm wondering, is the higher pressure causing my blood pres-
sure to go up? I am 65, good health, not overweight, etc.
If higher VPAP pressure is the cause, can any kind of meds.
lower my blood pressure. Any ideas, comments.
