Most hypertension is simply treated without investigation as to its causation. This if ofcourse foolish.

Recurrent episodes of hypoxia seem to affect cortisol levels and then blood pressure, but blood pressure can also be raised by cummulative load of heavy metals, particularly arsenic from drinking water and other environmental sources.
