Unfortunately you did not take into consideration a significant buildup of CO2, which you might not notice and generally it will not wake you. This is why there are warning on all literature with masks not to wear them for extended periods without the CPAP operating. I live in the southeast with a lot of thunderstorms and power failures. Fortunately, the thunderstorms normally wake me before the power goes out. I still don’t feel overly comfortable using the CPAP during violent thunderstorms, even though I have it on a ground fault circuit.
