Since you live in D.C. (or the D.C. area) have you called Children's National Medical Center and asked about a sleep disorder program or sleep testing there? If they have one, accredited or not, it's very likely to be good. I have friends up in Philly who swear by the sleep disorders program at the Children's Hospital up there - they claim it saved their child's life. I have a co-teacher whose daughters were both diagnosed with apnea last year. They were overweight and snored a lot. They both had tonsilectomies and have stopped having apneas while the older (age 14) has lost 50 pounds in the last year since the surgeries. Is the ENT to whom you refer a specialist in children's sleep disorders? Have you questioned him about how your daughter could be validly tested when the equipment was not on her face? I guess I wonder if you and your daughter are simply being shunted off to the side because the doctors consulted are really not knowledgeable about childhood apnea. Finding another phycician might be your best solution.
