One of the promises of CPAP therapy is the restoration of stamina and energy, so you could probably make a convincing argument. However, I would use great caution in how you phrase this in your letter. I don't know if you want to tell your CO (in writing, yet) that you can only maintain your fitness for service with the help of a machine. This is tantamount to admitting that you are no longer capable of world-wide deployment. In some Army units, OSA sufferers must either submit to surgical solutions (which must cure the condition) or face medical discharge. The question of disability is problematic. Unless you are bucking for discharge, be very careful of what you reveal to the brass.
