Thanks for the reply!
I'm just super curious about this. Is it possible for me to breath fine for the first part of the night, not go into rem, but then when I finally do go into rem I have apneas? Its weird. Last night I went to bed at 6 pm because I had to make up for only having three hours of sleep during the study. It is now 8:50 am the next day and my stomach and back muscles are aching and all my other muscles hurt a little bit. Maybe I am a rem only apnea kinda guy. I fell asleep last night at 6 without any melatonin, but I woke at 9 pm and I took the melatonin to assure I stayed asleep long enough to make up the difference from the night before. I think either the melatonin, or the fact that I smoke are the main contributing factors to any problem.
