Mouth breathing will for sure keep the cpap from helping you. I don't know if you use a heated humidifier or not but I do know one thing for sure it will help! I feel that a heated humidifier is a must.

I don't like nasal masks at all, I have tried many, the only thing I have found that works for me is the Adam nasal pillows, I love it.

You did not say what kind of mask you have, but if it has a vent other than the two air nipples, then they should be plugged
