I think you would get more information on the insomnia forum. They have a lot of information on "sleep hygiene" and "sleep restriction." Try a search there. It will mean forcing yourself out of bed at a more normal time, so that eventually you fall asleep earlier. Also restriction of caffeine - NONE for 8 hours before bedtime! (In cluding colas.) Look into that.
You say "the test showed..." Was this at a sleep clinic? If so, the clinic should be able to help you also. They had a class for insomnia at the one I went to.
Hope you get some ideas.
