CPAP New user (Help!)

Posted by ziconater on April 24, 2003 at 16:28:03:

I just started using a CPAP (Remstar Pro) device last week, and I'm having a terrible time falling asleep. I'm using nasal pillows (Breeze), and they are pretty comfortable so far. That's te best part of it.

What I can't get past is the effect of exhaling air out of my lungs against the constant CPAP pressure. It just feels really claustraphobic. I feel like struggling to push air out, but in reality I know it's just in my head.

How do I get past this?
Any advice would be great.
