Like you said it is in your head and the head of most of us when we first start.

Try watching TV or reading when you are hosed up, this will help you relax and get use to the new way of breathing.

I eventually realized that I was breathing in a very shallow manner, apparently as a reflex to the air pressure and blowing. The shallow breathing made me feel like I was out of breath, or could not get my breath. It helped to force myself to inhale very deeply, so that the exhale was natural and not forced. If you inhale deeply you will not have to force the exhale. With a little parctice you will find yourself breathing normally after a time. This was about 3 years ago at a pressure of 15. You have to want this to work, and with determination you will adjust to it. Hang in there, the result is absolutely worth the effort.
