Make the water chamber is clamped in by the base. The heated plate is spring loaded and pushes up on the bottom of the water chamber to keep it from leaking. The water chamber will leak if it is full of water and the bottom is not held in by pressure. The first night I used mine, I some how did not have the chamber in right and it leaked out.
