Fast heartbeat upon waking

Posted by Amron on April 25, 2003 at 06:15:26:

I have been 100% compliant on CPAP (Remstar Plus, Ultra Mirage, 7 cm.) for approx. 2 years. When I wake up during the night (usually twice) my heart beats fast for a short time. I can almost always remember having been dreaming prior to waking. Is this repeated short period of rapid heart beat cause for concern? Is there some explanation for it?

(I expect to be having another sleep study in June.)
