Posted by Hacksaw on April 25, 2003 at 10:29:14:D.H., thanks for mentioning the "light headedness". After being on my CPAP for 5 nights, I was kind of dizzy and woosy. Figured it was probably the CPAP, but it's nice to have someone verify it.
After 6 nights, I'm doing very well. I have the Remstar Auto with humidifier, and NasalAire. I tried the Profile Lite mask one night, and prefer the NasalAire 100% over the mask. My pressure is only at 7, but I purchased the Auto because I read it was more tolerable, and can be used as a fixed if necessary.
I got the NasalAire in a Large, my husband measured my nostrils and I ordered it online. My nostrils flare out with the NA in, but it doesn't hurt me, rub, or fall out. And, yes, I'm using a lubricant to avoid irritation.
Question: To those who use NA. Do your nostrils "flare out" when you have your NA in? I'm wondering if my NA is too large - maybe I could use a medium.
I'm not sleeping as well with the CPAP and I used to sleep. I always slept great, was never tired during the day, and had plenty of energy. My only symptoms of sleep apnea were a mild morning headache, and horrible snoring.
I'm happy to report that the snoring is non-existant now. I did snore slightly with the mask, but not at all with the NA. My husband is in Hog Heaven. At least one of us is sleeping better. lol....
I know I have to keep telling myself that I'm doing this for my health, and not so my husband can sleep. But at this point, whatever the reason, I'm trying to be compliant.
Sorry this was so long, just wanted to let you know that my experience has been great so far. Thanks for all your help, support, and information.
Linda
