Your nose being congested means you may have been mouth breathing while asleep. This is bad with or without CPAP.

You may be right about allergies.

You may find a heated humidifier helpful.

You may also find nasal irrigation with saline solution to be helpful. I use the Grossan machine and it has made a big difference.
