I haven't posted yet but I read the forum frequently.
I have recently changed insurance to United Healthcare EPO. The doc I went to as well as the place I got my equipment is not on my new insurance. I need to get a heated humidifier. I did not have one prescribed when I originally got my equipment. How would I go about getting one now? (Do I have to go to a new doctor, do I need a specific prescription just for the humidifier, or can a DME provider take care of it?)
Some background...
I was diagnosed a year ago with severe osa. I was prescribed a cpap and got a breeze nasal mask. I have been fighting with the mask for a long time because of mouth breathing and sinus problems, and irritation. I ended up picking up a full face mask. I paid for this myself because I had already bought a mask for that year. The mask works a lot better but I have a hard time falling asleep because of the cold air blowing on my face. Its like sleeping in a freezer. Most nights I end up giving up.
Any advice would be appreciated.
