Posted by Puella on May 29, 2003 at 15:27:22:Hi,
I've recently been diagnosed with OSA. Have been reading this site madly, trying to get informed before I get set up with my first CPAP. I asked my doc for a script for an auto-CPAP with heated humidifier and ultrafine filters--which he gave me. I need some advice before I commit to a cpap supplier. The California Center for Sleep Disorders in Oakland wants to supply me with a regular CPAP machine (I think the ResMed 7), but I've found a DME that will give me a RemStar Auto for the price of the RemStar Plus. I had wanted an auto-cpap after reading posts on this site. I wasn't feeling too confident in my technician the night of the sleep study, and am wondering if the pressure, 9, is too high. I could barely keep my mouth shut.
I'm just afraid to commit to a DME because I have Medicare and I'm told it's hard to switch once you start with one. Has anyone had good experiences (or bad) with Rest EZ Medical Supplies in El Cerrito, CA? Or used the Sleep Center to get their cpap?
Thanks for any assistance!
