I take it from your information that you're titrated at 9cm of pressure, but have worries about that being too high. But then you ask about a specific DME business in El Cerrito, and I don't know what this connection would be? Maybe just two questions.

I do not live in the Bay Area, so cannot say about the DME provider.

I'd say what you want is a trial period on either CPAP you mention (either the auto or the S7) and see how you do. If your pressure was up there around 15, then I'd say that selection of equipment is extremely important. But for now, maybe just work with the supplier who will give you the trial rental period. During this period, you will get all the problems with your therapy worked out. Remember that having a good fitting mask is sometimes more important than the model or type of machine you use!

Auto-titrating machines offer better possibilities for lower pressure therapy. But unless you're considering surgery soon, you should realize that you're now on CPAP for the duration and there is plenty of time to work out what's best for your equipment.

Pressure adjustments to your CPAP therapy have to come from (written from) the doctor's office, so if that is your main worry, having either the sleep lab or the DME as your provider doesn't matter too much.
