Afternoon Attacks

Posted by KevinT53 on July 29, 2003 at 17:12:37:

I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea back in 98 and have been treated with cpap w/humidifier, etc. I originally had an RDI of 12 which dropped to under 5 after having somno, septo, and sinus surgery. Last year my RDI went back up to 17 (all hypopneas). I have recently been struggling with both the Resmed FF mask and the nasal ultra mirage. Here is my question....I go through periods of time where I seem to have some kind of attacks in the late afternoon. My ears start ringing, then I get real sleepy and am pretty useless the rest of the day. I have been tested and found out that I have many food allergies and outdoor allergies. My sleep doc is having me titrated later in the year due to nasal congestion. Has anyone else had this problem? Would anyone like to speculate on whether its apnea or allergies causing this....?

Many Thanks,
Kevin
