This is really not enough sleep. However, if you're noticeably less tired than before it's obviously working. Your body will figure it out in time. Meanwhile, four hours of sleep on CPAP, at the appropriate pressure, is better than eighteen without it.

Also, if you're not using a humidifier, or only using a passive one, try using a heated humidifier. Dry and irritated sinuses can be causing you to remove the mask while not fully awake.

To cut down on removing the mask, make this a rule. Machine is engaged and mask is on before you lie down at night. Machine is not turned off and mask is not removed until you’re sitting up or standing up. Do not lie down to read or watch television or for any reason other than sleeping. Alternatively, if you insist on lying down, engage the CPAP and mask “just in case.” Following these habits rigorously will make it less likely that you’ll remove the mask at night.
