Surgery is not reversible. CPAP can be discontinued. Furthermore, it sounds like your condition is so severe that surgery would be high-risk. You should revisit CPAP. This time, make sure that you're using a heated humdifier.

If you really can't use CPAP, you should post in the non-CPAP forum.
