Kind of in the same boat, I've had sleep apnea for prob 10 years, but just diagnosed 3 years ago. I've been trying to use cpap the entire time but still haven't been able to successfully use it. I too was advised to have the UPPP surgery (which I did 2 yrs ago) and deviated septum surgery (which I did 1 year ago) and unfortunately neither helped (ironically both were done at Stanford). I actually requested another consultation w/ my ENT (today) and I'm sure he's going to recommend the jaw surgery, I'll check back with you later today...
