Regarding Q2, I hear you. My wife is pretty good about understanding, but from time to time she forgets. I usually say 1 of 2 things:

1. How would you like it if I woke you up 200 times during the night...

2. You know how you feel after 1 night of sleeping poorly, well imagine how I feel after 10 years of not sleeping well.

Neither is very effective though (although good for starting an argument)... let me know if you find something better :)
