Hazy,

Thanks for the thoughts. I sympathize with you running into problems with doctors wanting to slap "depression" on their chart and sending you off. That's the go-to diagnosis when they can't be bothered. I really expected more from an accredited sleep specialist/psychiatrist.

Some good news today: on my last day of having "decent" insurance, I went to see my physician. He knows very little about sleep disruptions but was sympathetic and understood that I had tried going through conventional avenues. He's agreed to let me try some meds to see if I can submit and keep myself in stage 3/4...maybe sleep through the VERY minor breathing cessations that CPAP can't even address.

I'm going to pick up a scrip for Klonopin tomorrow, so we'll see how it goes. Once my finances improve, I'm also going to try a dental appliance. I can't give up, but sometimes it gets really hard to stay motivated.

UARS-type disruptions are very hard to address. People think I'm crazy, but I nearly wish I had severe and full-blown apnea. At least it's easily understood!
