Posted by atworkbutsleeping on August 01, 2003 at 07:55:06:After two months of waiting for insurance approval (and this is with severe OSA), I finally got my machine yesterday. It was a rough first night, although some of the problem was due to my family's lack of consideration. They can all, inluding hubby, expect a pow wow with Mom this evening and lots of pots banging, dogs barking, laughing, talking, etc at 7:00 a.m. tomorrow morning after they stayed up half the night LOL.
Anyway, I now have some questions. My doctor has prescribed a constant level setting of 8cm. I have read that you can tell, by downloading, how many events you are having, etc. Is this only when you are in the auto mode or is this information also available in the CPAP mode by getting the downloads? Also, how in the world does this machine know how many events you have? It seems to me that the only information it could give would be how long it was in use and the air flow. Also, how do I go about obtaining the software so that I can keep an eye on my progress? Thank you.
