With apnea, if you are titrated to say "10", running higher than that can induce central apneas, so for that reason and comfort - tolerating the mask and minimizing leaks you would not want to go higher. I think that is the main reasons.

I am set at 6 for apnea and 10 max for UARS (just starting the autopap). When I check the data in the morning it has always been 10 (max) meaning it has been running at the highest level nearly all night. I guess I've got a lot of work to do.
