I'm now sure if it's a split study or not. When the nurse called to confirm the appointment, she just indicated what time I needed to show up in the morning. I meet with the doctor at 9am to talk to him and answer some questions, then come back in the evening for the actual sleep study. The center also sent me a questionare to fill out and bring with me in the morning.
