Excessive daytime sleepiness

Posted by sleepy1115 on August 01, 2003 at 12:59:05:

I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea in April 2003. I do not have specific results of my sleep study which included a full day of napping. A cpap was prescribed by my doctor and I have been using it nightly for 2 months. I am still having a serious problem with daytime sleepiness. I have talked to my doctor and he has prescribed Provigil (a stimulant) to help. I have been on the provigil for approximately 3 weeks and still have no results. I get approximately 6 or 7 hours of sleep per night. I still have a problem staying awake in meetings, driving, movies, or just reading a book. I could probably stand to lose about 20 lbs, but have been unsuccessful at losing anything although I eat healthy and workout 1 1/2 hours 3x per week. Some days I feel great but they are few and far between. HELP!! This is ruining my life.
