I had the same problem, but not so bad, before I was
diagnosed with OSA.

I had gone to dentists and nothing was found. Finally a
tooth that had had a root canal and therefore no feeling
absessed on my gum. I had a cracked tooth below the gum
and it was undetectable. A good oral surgeon with
excellent new xrays was able to see a slight shawdow and
find it. Tooth out, vast improvement. Good luck.
