Annual Sleep Re-test

Posted by Grafx on September 04, 2003 at 07:35:50:

First I would like to thank all who post on this forum, Thank you for sharing you wisdom, experiences, and compassion, there are l lot of us that just read and study your posts, I think I have posted a message maybe 2 times. Anyway Thanks, I don't think I would have made it this past year if it had not been for knowledge so freely shared on this forum.
My original sleep study results were 351 events, max duration was 128 seconds. and a index of 59.6. I was put on a bi-pap with the settings of 19 / 9.
I have been 100% compliant, I went throught all the newbie stuff but for the last 6 months I have been getting 7-8 hours sleep every night, I have lost 50+ pounds and feel better that I have in 20 years.
The results of this sleep test was 385 events, max duration was 138 seconds, and a index of 62.9, I was instructed to bring my bi-pap in for new settings of 20 / 11. I understand that a setting of 20 is the max setting on bi-paps, if this trend continues what happends next year?? Is this normal or do I have somethine to worrie about?
I was kinda hoping my numbers would be getting better, not worse. Am I making a mountain out of a mole hill, or is this something I need to worrie about??
Again thank you all for your support
