I am what I would call an anti-lawsuits type person who is very much in favor of putting caps on judgements. However, when I read something like this I understand completely why malpractice insurance has gotten so high for doctors...there are way to many incompetants! You say this was a sleep doctor? Heck the physician's assistant at my PCP's office did a better job of picking up on my sleep disorder than your so called sleep doctor. He is every bit as sorry as the one who diagnosed moderate sleep apnea and then told the patient to loose weight and then come back for a re-evaluation. I am so glad you are going to see a different doctor because the incidences you described sound very much like the same things I experienced.
