I believe your chin strip is made by Tiara. I had a black one like you describe from them. It was terrible. Check with your DME supplier to get a different one. I got another one by Tiara--it has a leather chin holder without a hole--it fits and works great.

On the Ultra Mirage, I never had success with getting it to seal well and switched to an Adam Circuit. But I did learn that if you played with the tightness of the headgear until it's comfortable and then adjust the angle of the mask one click at a time, it was possible to get it to feel more comfortable, but then I did develop a slight leak at the bottom of the mask.

Hope that helps.
