This really is a question for a prefessional. My guess is that even among prefessionals there's uncertainty. Are many partial events the same as a few complete events? Are many short events the same as a few long ones? I think that you're in uncharted territory (I.E. the answer is that the true answer is unknown).

In any event, give CPAP a chance. Also, I would not ignore the lack of tstage 3 and 4 sleep. If it's really five minutes with CPAP and zero minutes without, this indicates a very slow, but very real improvement. If this is the case, relief will take some time, but it will come with continued CPAP use.
