Sorry, this little experiment does not replicate the situation of an abrupt cessation of electricity in mid-sleep. Neither did the mid-August power failure in the Eastern United States, as it happened at 4:15 in the afternoon.

I did experience a power failure last November in Santiago, Chile. Believe me, I got up real fast!
