I am 34. My apnea is so severe that my physician said that if pap didnt work that my next option was a trach and if that did not work death. It is scarry to think but bipap certainly was going to work no matter how hard it is. It took me months to get the set up right. 18 months later, I feel great and wish I would have done something 10 years ago. I wake up refreshed. I am not cranky or depressed. My energy has improved 1,000 times at least. I do not come home from work and nap anymore. I have energy to go to the gym. So look at Pap therapy as a positive thing not a bad thing. Your life will only get better.
