The standard suggestion for anyone with nighttime congestion problems related to CPAP is a heated humidifier. I have allergies and I would never survive CPAP without it. Without the humidifier, the sinus problems are overwhelming.

Beyond that, freebird has many very good suggestions. There are resolutions to many of your husband's roadblocks to health, but as freebird says, only he can make the decision to tackle these things one at a time and see it through to feeling better and more energetic.

And I second freebird's suggestion that you think about counseling for yourself to help you decide how you are going to cope with this.
