effects of hypopneas?

My first sleep study revealed that I had 41 episodes of hypopnea while sleeping a total 7 hours during my first sleep study.There were no episodes of hypopnea during the second study,done with a cpap.I have been suffereing from extreme fatigue.The doctor said I should use the machine,but I am not sure if that is where the problem is,as he said the thing affecting me most is that I am not getting any stage 3 or 4 sleep.He said that is "because you just don't sleep well"Any opinions?
