It's possible the machine is getting rid of the hypopneas, but not treating microarousals or fractured breathing. It can often be hard for test equipment to pick up and doctors don't always look as hard as they should.

Do you have restless legs? Allergies? Stress? CFS? If not, consider getting a second opinion. It could be some upper airway resistance.
