Legionaire's Disease

Posted by Walt on October 15, 2003 at 22:11:57:

I moved to Las Vegas several months ago. My heated humidifier no longer heats. I wanted to get another heated unit but the V.A. rep told me that heated humidifiers have been shown to be a cause of Legionaire's Disease out here, unless you clean the unit everday.

Not going to happen, although I do empty the canister and let it air out. There is usually some residual liquid still in it that evening, however.

Anyone know anything about this issue?
