The other folks who have responded make some good points, but I don't think they address what I think is your central question: is lack of sex drive typical of sleep apnea sufferers. My vote would be that it is not. I'm in my upper 50's, and despite postponing CPAP treatment for 10 or 12 years longer than I should have, the apnea never had any effect on the sex drive. Something else may be operating in his case. I also wonder about being addicted to Dristan. I haven't read the precautions on the box and never use the stuff, but I'll bet they caution against daily and routine usage. One more thing. I'm a real mouth breather at night because my nose always seems plugged up when I lie down. But once the CPAP mask is on, I have no trouble breathing 100 percent through my nose. Maybe all these observations are unique to my case, and many things seem to be unique among CPAP users, but I would consider other reasons for the avoidance of sexual activity.
